Eat...
We personally recommend The Lifeboat Seafoods in Brooklyn for lunch, there is a lovely atmosphere and outdoor seating (be sure to book!).
If a pub atmosphere is what you’re looking for, try The Angler’s Restaurant & Hotel (also in Brooklyn).
And for coffee (we can’t forget coffee, can we?) try Brooklyn’s Corner, it has the best coffee in town and serves homemade tarts and delicious burgers.
For some great views, try Mooney Mooney Worker’s Club or Estuary Waterfront Seafood Restaurant and Bar. Both directly overlook the Hawkesbury River.
Enjoy!

Fishing, kayaking, beaches… what’s not to love about a holiday on the Hawkesbury?
If you have your own boat, we recommend Black Beach or Doughboy Beach Reserve (the latter has been described as ‘magic’ in Google reviews).
Deerubbun Reserve offers lovely views of the river and is a great place to relax with a picnic. There is plenty of grass and parking available, along with the Mooney Mooney Boatramp.
McKnell Park is easily accessed by foot or by car, just make your way to the end of Dangar Road. There are BBQ and picnic areas for lunch and dinner, and you can also utilise the Brooklyn Boat Ramp if you want a day on the water. Finally, don’t forget to take a quick dip in the protected sea pool!
Gunyah Beach and Eleanor Beach are quite close together and very cute. Get ready for some great pics! Alternatively, you can head to Hungry Beach by boat for some hidden wildlife (try to spot the monitor lizards).
Finally, throw on your walking shoes and try the Patonga to Pearl Beach Walking Track (3km one-way). The walk includes a lookout and caves to explore. Patonga Beach itself is a great place for a swim in the calm water and lunch at The Boathouse Hotel Patonga.
Have fun!

Cruise...
The Riverboat Postman docks at Brooklyn and Dangar Island, departing every weekday at 10:00AM for a relaxing cruise along the Hawkesbury. The entire cruise takes about three hours, and morning tea and lunch are provided on board. If you like libations with your leisure then fear not; all the Postman’s boats are fully licensed.
The cruise is extremely popular, so be sure to book.
Bon voyage!
